Introductory to Full Fusing                       All Levels
Instructor: Karen Varela
$125 plus materials (both days)
Saturday:  Learn all about the glass, the tools, and the kilns. Students will learn to cut glass & then assemble the cut pieces for a full fuse firing
Sunday:  Learn how to use the ring saw & grinder to shape, grind & clean up the glass cabochons that you made the day before. Then you will do another firing to fire polish your pieces.

Make It Take It - Glass Fusing Tack Fuse Day            All Levels
Instructor: Karen Varela
$45 plus materials
If you want to give glass fusing a try but don’t want to take the plunge yet, this class is for you. We’ll be firing at a lower temperature and you will design your cabochons so they will be ready after the first firing for jewelry making.

Etching on Glass                All Levels
Instructor: Karen Varela
$60 plus materials
We will be using etching crème on dichroic glass to give us some nice patterns to use on our cabochons.  We’ll take a vote that day to either fire at full temperature or the tack fuse temperature.

Sunday May 22nd
Kumihimo Class with Groovy Heart      All Levels
Instructor: Karen Varela
$65 plus materials
Learn the ancient Japanese technique of cord braiding, using the foam kumihimo disc and size 8 seed beads.  Karen will show how it’s easy, fast & can be done anywhere on the go!  Also included is Karen’s groovy wire technique. She will show how to wrap one of her fused glass hearts for a pendant to hang from the clasp.

Silver Clay Organics Leaves and Pods          All Levels
Instructor: Anne Karam
$250 includes all materials

Using fresh leaves and pods, students will make leaf elements to use as pendants, earrings, focals, or to incorporate into other metal clay projects. Different techniques will be taught, such as rolling, cutting and texturing clay, syringe work, using paste and lump clays, pre-firing greenware work, and post firing finishing. Students will have enough clay provided to make the suggested number of leaves, and additional clay will be available for purchase if students want to make more. Organics will be provided, and students may bring their own to class, if desired.

Peyote Ribbons                  All Levels
Instructor: Mabeline Gidez
$45 for BOTH days
Fall in love with the peyote stitch when creating this chic strip of Delicas. This class is split into two, 2-hour sessions. Some homework is required between sessions. In the first session, you will learn flat, even-count peyote stitch. You will start your peyote strip in class, and then finish the rest of the band at home. In the second session, you will learn how to embellish the edges of your strip with the lattice weave stitch, add a sparkling crystal edge and create a beaded toggle clasp. Bead weaving experience with needle and thread is helpful, but not required. Beginners are welcome to take this class.
