Lampworking
Fire up the torches, and learn to make
glass beads!
These classes are just too much fun to describe! Learn all the
basics to get yourself started. Learn about torches and fuels, about
mandrels and all the wonderful shaping and forming tools that exist for
our beadmaking pleasure. Learn about different glasses and how they do
and do not fit together. Learn to make round beads of different sizes.
Learn to make your own stringers. Then, experiment with shaping the
glass, encasement, and surface and embedded ornamentation. Experiment
with dichro, foil and fuming, folding, adding glass to glass. Try your
hand at making a glass flower, a fish, a vessel, or other shape.
Our instructor, Cathi Milligan, from Beadbrains,
will demonstrate beadmaking at its best, and has never yet been
caught unable to answer all the questions asked of her about this art.
Books will be available for inspiration and purchase, and glass rods and
other supplies are also in stock.
The Beadiak also provides tools and torch time for the lampworker who
isn’t yet ready to make the financial investment in tools or who cannot
accommodate torches and tanks at home.
Classes are two day classes, on Saturdays and Sundays.
The next scheduled

Cost: $250.00 (includes lunch and basic materials)
